Really Scent

''Really Scent'' is a 1959 Merrie Melodies cartoon starring Pepe Le Pew and a cat similar to Penelope Pussycat called "Fabrette" and directed by Abe Levitow. This is the only short in the Pepe Le Pew series to be directed by someone other than Chuck Jones. This is also the only Pepe Le Pew short that takes place in the United States (specifically the French Quarter of New Orleans) instead of France.
==Plot==
In the French Quarter of New Orleans, a black cat named Fabrette is born with a birthmark that makes her resemble a striped skunk. She has trouble attracting any male cats because they all take her to be a real skunk and run away. Meanwhile, Pepé Le Pew arrives in New Orleans as a stowaway on a ship, also looking for a mate, but becomes puzzled when humans run away from him, exclaiming "pew!". When Fabrette meets Pepé, she is attracted to him and tries to have a relationship but cannot stand his stench. She tries to first hold her breath, and then spray him with perfume, but to no avail. After encountering more humans running away from him exclaiming "pew!", he looks up the word in the dictionary. After realizing what it means, he locks himself in a deodorant plant to remove his odor. Fabrette however locks herself in a limburger cheese factory to smell more like a skunk. When the two meet up again, the now more forceful and demanding Fabrette quickly corners the terrified Pepé, who, after smelling her new stench, wants nothing more than to escape the amorous female cat. Unfortunately, she will not take "no" for an answer and proceeds to chase Pepé off into the distance, with no intention of letting him escape.
